what can you use to cure baby acne - Baby Acne Treatment - Simple and Easy Ways to Cure Acne

A baby acne treatment is one method of dealing with acne neonatorum or commonly known as acne experienced by newborn babies. About 20 percent of babies that are newly born experience this condition.

The reason why babies develop newborn acne is the stimulation of the sebaceous glands by the hormones of the mother that get to the baby during or after the delivery. The maternal hormones stimulate the baby's oil glands which form pimple-looking bumps in the baby's cheeks, forehead and chin.

Usually baby acne forms either after the baby is born or when the baby is 3 weeks old and it is more common in male babies than in female infants. There are two types of baby acne: papules and pustules which are frequently experienced by infants. Papules are similar to red pimples because of their reddish color. On the other hand, pustules look like whiteheads with pus within the bump.

The acne that develops in the baby's skin disappears after a few months so there is really not much need for any acne cure treatment. However, it would also help if parents would keep the baby's skin cleansed with water and mild baby soap. They should not exaggerate by using any oil or lotion as that may worsen the baby's skin instead of helping it. Moreover, the use of rough cloth as well as exposing the baby's skin to too much sunlight is a no-no because these would irritate the baby's very sensitive skin.

Keeping the baby in a cheerful atmosphere will also help because the more he gets fussy and irritated, the more the acne worsens. Whenever severe acne develops in the baby's skin, some doctors recommend benzoyl peroxide as acne prone skin care. Use this treatment only upon the recommendation of a doctor to avoid worsening the baby's condition.

A lot of parents worry about not being able to take pictures of their newborn because of the acne but that really isn't a problem. Parents can take all the pictures they want and not worry because baby acne will eventually clear up; as mentioned, this is a temporary and a normal condition and the bumps clear up after a couple of months or so.

Finally, the best way to deal with baby acne is to wait patiently until the bumps clear up. Worrying too much will not help but being informed about the condition and its temporariness will help first time parents a lot so they won't be misled to wrong ideas. Learning the fact that the acne clears up when the baby is about 6 months old even without any treatment for pimples will greatly comfort parents so they can just keep watch and keep the baby as clean as possible. Patiently waiting for the baby to outgrow the acne is the best baby acne treatment there is.
